It started with a toolbox, a ladder, and a promise: do the job right the first time. Great-grandfather passed that ethic down to grandfather, father, and now the sons who run Roof Masters today.
We didn't learn roofing from a manual. We learned it on Wisconsin roofs — through blizzards, summer storms, and every season in between. That history is what makes us different from contractors who treat every job like a transaction.
Today we serve the Northwoods and lake communities with the same care we'd give our own family's roof. Because for us, this work is personal.

The family behind Roof Masters
Roofing technicians — family in the business since the 1940s, from a family truck in the 1950s to some of the largest commercial projects in Wisconsin, and now to the lake homes and cabins of the Northwoods.
It started on a roof, not in an office
Dan Hecimovich, owner of Roof Masters, comes from a long line of roofing contractors. His father-in-law, Ed Zibolski, got his start as a teenager, carrying bundles and learning the trade beside his own dad at EZ Roofers.
What he learned on those roofs — show up early, do it right, stand behind your work — became the foundation for everything the family has built since.
From family trade to commercial roofing business
In the 1970s, Ed Zibolski started his own commercial roofing business, Elite Roofing and Sheet Metal in Milwaukee. He grew it into one of the largest and most respected commercial roofing contractors in the state, with crews taking on the projects most companies wouldn't touch — government buildings, arenas, and large-scale work across Wisconsin and Illinois.
Ed became especially well known for his expertise on government contracts, building a family legacy in construction that carries on to this day.
Rooted in Tomahawk since 1994
Dan moved to Tomahawk in 1994 to run the Zibolski family’s hotels, resort, and restaurant. Decades later, the Northwoods isn’t just where he works — it’s home. Roof Masters brings that same family-rooted standard to every roof up here.
